A distinctive Australian hardwood, the Ironbark is well known for its hardness, strength and longevity. There are two varieties of Ironbark: grey ironbark (Eucalyptus paniculata) and red ironbark (Eucalyptus sideroxylon). The grey ironbark is a mid-sized tree that is found along the coastal regions of New South Wales and the southern parts of Queensland. The red ironbark is most commonly found in Victoria, as well as western New South Wales and Southern Queensland.
